Thermoregulatory centre - contains receptors that are sensitive to the temperature of the blood flowing through the brain.

Temperature receptors - detect the temperature of the body.

Effectors - produce a response.

Vasodilation - blood vessels supplying the skin dilate so more blood flows close to the surface when you are hot.

Vasoconstriction - blood vessels supplying skin capillaries constrict to close off the skin's blood supply when you are cold.

Kidneys - clean the blood and take the waste products to make urine.

Anti-diuretic hormone - controls the concentration of urine.

Dialysis treatment - machines do the job of the kidneys.
